Sun and Rain

16 Feb

Today we ended up taking the tram downtown, to the CBD (Central Business District). From there we took another tram out to St. Kilda, to the Melbourne beach. There we saw lots of pasty Australians getting skin cancer. We walked down a pier to a jetty and saw more little penguins, the same species that we saw in Phillip Island. We could barely see them in between the rocks, but they were still super cute. Also in St.Kilda is Luna Park which looks like a rickety amusement park in the same vein as Coney Island.

I didn't see anyone get eaten by a shark... yet.

Luna Park. The clown face scares Rob.

After St. Kilda we headed over to Target and got some household essentials. On the tram ride home is started raining off and on a little bit. We decided to just walk the mile from the tram home instead of waiting for the bus. Of course not 5 steps away from the tram it started POURING rain. Some of the hardest rain I’ve ever been in, the kind that hurts. It wasn’t too cold, just wet. We were pretty drippy by the time we got back.

I keep hearing over and over that Melbourne gets all the seasons in one day. So far it seems like the seasons are A. Boiling hot or B. Pouring rain.

That clown face is totally going to eat you if you go in there… Was it open?

Send me a penguin please! I got rid of the frogs and we can keep the penguin in the pack n play!
The clown amusement park screams danger to me. It’s like the park pinnochio goes to where all the kids get turned into donkeys. But I guess it probably isn’t any worse than our very own Fun Factory at the pier.
