The Little Red Hen

21 Jul

We were walking through the wildlife sanctuary today and came across a chicken. What? We can only guess as to how it got there. Jumped the fence, which is high and has barbed wire? Was dumped there by some former owner? It followed us a little ways and looked happy to see people. Very strange. There aren’t any predators around and there is plenty for it to eat… I guess The Little Red Hen is our new forest friend.

I was thinking how my niece, Gayla has chickens now that they have a small farm in Arkansas, and she writes that she has named some of them and they like her. Gram

Are you sure that’s a “SHE”? Looks like a “HE” to ME!

Not sure. It only clucked, no crowing. We didn’t see it the next day… may have already bit the dust.
